Property listings are created and managed by Landlords. While we make efforts to verify listings, we do not:

• Guarantee the accuracy of property descriptions, photos, or prices
• Verify property ownership or the landlord's authority to rent
• Inspect properties for condition, safety, or compliance
• Confirm property availability or rental terms

2.2 Verified Badges

"Verified" badges on listings indicate that we have:

• Confirmed the listing exists and basic information is provided
• Verified the landlord's account and contact information
• Checked for obvious fraud indicators

Verification does NOT guarantee: Property ownership, property condition, rental terms, or the legitimacy of the rental agreement.

3. Tenant Responsibilities

As a tenant using 254rent, you are responsible for:

• Verifying Property Information: Independently verify all property details, including location, condition, and amenities
• Property Inspection: Conduct a thorough inspection before signing any rental agreement
• Landlord Verification: Verify the landlord's identity and authority to rent the property
• Legal Review: Review and understand all rental agreements before signing
• Due Diligence: Check property ownership records, zoning, and any restrictions
• Safety: Meet landlords in safe, public locations for viewings
• Payment Security: Never send money before viewing a property or signing a legitimate agreement

4. Landlord Responsibilities

As a landlord listing on 254rent, you are responsible for:

• Accurate Information: Providing accurate, truthful property information
• Legal Authority: Having the legal right to rent the property
• Property Condition: Disclosing any material defects or issues
• Compliance: Ensuring the property complies with all applicable laws and regulations
• Availability: Keeping listings updated when properties are rented or unavailable
• Communication: Responding to tenant inquiries in a timely and professional manner

5. No Agency Relationship

254rent does not act as an agent, broker, or representative for either landlords or tenants. We are not a party to any rental agreement, lease, or transaction.

All rental agreements, negotiations, and transactions are solely between the landlord and tenant. We do not:

• Negotiate rental terms
• Collect or hold deposits or rent
• Provide legal or financial advice
• Guarantee rental agreements or transactions

6. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, 254RENT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:

• Any inaccuracies in property listings
• Property condition, safety, or habitability issues
• Disputes between landlords and tenants
• Financial losses from rental transactions
• Fraudulent listings or scams
• Unauthorized access to user accounts
• Any damages arising from the use of our platform
